BATH MELTS

It has been 7 months since my last post - wow!!!  Time is a flying

These luxurious bath melts truly are a treat for any bath! The combination of shea butter, cocoa butter, lavender and chamomile is not only pleasing to your sense of smell, but leaves your skin feeling wonderful as well!

YOU WILL NEED:

50g organic shea butter

50g organic cocoa butter

1 drops of lavender essential oil (per melt)

1 teaspoon of dried lavender flowers

1 teaspoon of organic chamomile tea

METHOD:

1.       Finely grate your cocoa butter and add to a small cooking pot (I use an old one for all my crafts). Add your shea butter to the grated mixture.

2.       Place your pot on top of stove on low heat and stir until melted then take off the heat.

3.       Open a teabag of organic chamomile tea and sprinkle 1 teaspoon of it into the mix.

4.       Sprinkle your dried lavender into the mix and give it all a good stir.

5.       Gently pour your molten mix into silicone moulds (you can also use ice cube trays but I find the melts easier to remove from silicone).

6.       Add your essential oil (in this case lavender) to the moulds.

7.       Put your melts into the fridge to harden up for about an hour.

8.       Pop your melts out their mould and store in a glass jar by your bath.

ENJOY xoxoxo

SPRING IS IN THE AIR!

I love spring time when all the flowers start blooming and the birds are singing.  This year I wanted to keep the mantel simple and sweet.

BATH BOMB

MOISTURIZING BATH BOMB RECIPE

One of my favorite ways to unwind is by having a bath. I love a good bath! I was a lush addict but I couldn’t handle spending $7 on a bath when I was having one a night.  So I have tried and tested so many different bath bomb recipes and this was my favorite by far.
I love using olive oil or grape seed oil to add a little moisture as my skin can be dry especially in the cooler months.

Here’s what you need:
-Cornstarch 1/2 cup
-Epsom Salt 1/4 cup
-Baking Soda 1 cup
-Citric Acid 1/2 cup
-3/4 tablespoon water
-Essential Oil (10 drops)
-Olive Oil / Grape seed oil 2 3/4 tablespoons
Finding the citric acid can be tricky.  I ordered my essential oil and citric acid on line, but I am sure you can get it at any health food store.
You’ll also need something to shape the bath bombs. I used my bath bomb mold but you can use a cookie scoop. Use any type of mould or whatever you have on hand instead of buying supplies.

Directions:
Mix together your dry ingredients.
In a separate bowl mix your wet ingredients.

Whisk the liquid into the dry ingredients. You have to work fast as you don’t want mixture to start bubbling.
Whisk it all together until you get a mix the consistency of wet sand.

Pack the mixture in really tight to your mold, then place on cookie sheet.

If you can't it to come out in one piece don't stress just plop it back into the bowl and re-shape it.
Let them dry overnight before you try to transport them anywhere or they’ll fall apart.
And there you have it the perfect bath bomb!

Cork Board

CORK BOARD

Don't throw away your wine corks, turn them into something useful, like a cork board made out of corks.

This was my most recent craft - I've had this frame forever just didn't know what to do with it.

I painted it with a fresh coat of black paint and hot glued wine corks onto it.  Oh and yes I we did drink all the wine :)

HOMEMADE CAKE STAND

HOMEMADE CAKE STAND

This is a craft I have wanted to do for a while.  It is so easy.  Simply find a candle holder - Flip upside down.  Find a interesting plate and crazy glue them together.  30 minutes later you’ve got a platform for your next creation.
