Homemade Dog Treats (oat banana peanut butter)

DOG TREATS - Oat Banana Peanut Butter

Since it is Valentines Day tomorrow, I thought I would make my two favorite boys
Enzo and Vino there favorite treats.
These are so easy to make and the parsley acts as a breath mint for dogs!
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY EVERYONE!

1      1 banana, peeled

·         1 cup oat flour

·         2/3 cup rolled oats

·         1/2 cup dried parsley

·         3 tablespoons peanut butter

·         1 egg, beaten

Method:
Preheat oven to 300°F. Put banana in a large bowl and use a spoon or potato masher to mash it thoroughly. Add oat flour, oats, parsley, peanut butter and egg and stir well to combine. Set aside for 5 minutes.

Roll mixture into 24 balls, using about 1 tablespoon dough for each; transfer to a large parchment paper-lined baking sheet as done. Use the back of a spoon or the heel of your hand to press each ball into a (1 1/2- to 2-inch) coin. Bake until firm and deep golden brown on the bottom, 40 to 45 minutes. Set aside to let cool completely.

PUMPKIN DOG TREATS

If you haven’t read my blog before you may not have met my two dogs Enzo and Vino.  They are hilarious and bring much joy to my life. Sunday is always a day of football and relaxation in our house. Cooking and baking relaxes me so I baked! But not for the humans we don’t need sweets lol. I made the pups there favorite pumpkin dog treats. Enzo and Vino give these pumpkin dog treats two paws up!

2 ½ cups whole wheat flour

2 eggs

½ cup canned pumpkin

2 tablespoons peanut butter

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon cinnamon

1.     Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

2.     Whisk together the flour, eggs, pumpkin, peanut butter, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl. Add water as needed to help make the dough workable, but the dough should be dry and stiff. Roll the dough into a 1/2-inch-thick roll. Cut into 1/2-inch pieces.

3.     Bake in preheated oven until hard, about 40 minutes.

OATMEAL PEANUT BUTTER DOG TREATS

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Dog Treats

Love this recipe. My two dogs (Vino and Enzo) go crazy for these treats.  So easy and quick to make.  I found my dog bone cookie cutter at a local kitchen store.

 Makes about 50 small bones
INGREDIENTS

¼ cup honey

½ cup peanut butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup unbleached all purpose flour
1 cup rolled oats
¼ cup wheat germ (optional)

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Whisk together honey, peanut butter, olive oil and chicken broth. Combine flours and rolled oats.  Mix wet into dry ingredients.  Place dough on floured surface.  Roll dough out about ½ inch thick and cut with cookie cutter.  Keep rolling out until all leftover scraps are used.  Place cut cookies on parchment lined or sprayed cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes.   These are more of a cookie consistency and not a hard treat.

FROZEN DOG TREATS

FROZEN DOG TREATS

Enzo is a huge fan of Frosted treats – I actually trained him on ice cubes. Because summer is here and the weather is starting to get really hot I wanted to try these frosted paw treats I had seen in the supermarket.

2 cups plain yogurt
1 mashed ripe banana
2 tablespoons peanut butter
2 tablespoons honey
Mix all of the ingredients with a blender or mixer and freeze.
You can then put mixed product into ice cube trays, cups or any other item and freeze.  Another great idea is to put some of the mixture into a kong and freeze.  It kept enzo busy for hours.
This was such a hit I hope your furry friend loves frosted paws as much as Enzo does!

Those were such good treats - can I PLEASE PLEASE have one more!!
